A man was found dead in a quarry at Sanjay Gandhi National Park in Thane district, Maharashtra, prompting police to initiate an investigation.
Officials reported that an unidentified man's body was discovered in a quarry at Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP). The local police, along with disaster management, fire, and forest officials, recovered the body and turned it over to the police, who then transported it to the civic hospital.
The police reported receiving the information at around 10:45 a.m. The incident was communicated to the Disaster Management Cell by Police Sub-Inspector Sudhir Sathe. The location of the incident is near Patel Quarry, adjacent to Tikujini Wadi Water Park, Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Tikujini, Manpada, Thane West, Maharashtra.
An official stated, "The man is estimated to be between 25 to 30 years old. His body was found in a quarry within Sanjay Gandhi National Park. The body was recovered with the assistance of personnel from the Disaster Management Cell, Fire Brigade, and Forest Department."
The body was transferred to the Chitalsar-Manpada Police Station, which then sent to the District Government Hospital in Thane for an autopsy. Further investigations are ongoing to identify the deceased.
